Waste-to-energy plant AVR Rozenburg was hit by a fire in September 2023. Since then, the plant has been temporarily shut down and recovery work is underway. Powerspex is assisting in the recovery process and has now taken a seat on the project team to build the new steam plant.
Powerspex in project team
Powerspex was asked late last year, through Visser & Smit Hanab, to help think about engineering, after which the desire was expressed that Powerspex would also do detail engineering and execution. And so Powerspex joined the project team. All in all, it is an extensive project for Powerspex.
Jouke Dassen: "A complete project that suits Powerspex well. We have all aspects for this kind of project in house. In addition, we are flexible and can switch quickly, something that came in very handy here."
The Powerspex team at AVR
From Powerspex, Herman Hazenkamp and his immediate colleagues are leading the project. "I asked them because of their knowledge about this. Hazenkamp knows a lot about E-business and his colleagues know everything about panels, Atex and design and have a lot of knowledge about containers. Together they know exactly what needs to be done."
The project is in full swing. Dassen: "The cooperation with AVR is going very well. As a team, everything is picked up quickly. Powerspex's straightforward mentality is appreciated here, we notice."
